Update: 21 July 2010 - The format for the Bangkok Mickey Mouse Darts League has been finalized for the time being at least by league opinion. The information below has been modified.

The Pre-Season Meeting on Tuesday 6th ended with everyone deciding that the following format is best to start the first season and we can develop the league format as the league grows.

The common goal in many different variations of Mickey Mouse is to be the first player or team to close all the Mickey Mouse object numbers and have a higher point total. Points are scored by hitting ‘open’ object numbers.

Bangkok Mickeymouse Darts League Format: 3 x Singles, 3 Doubles, 1 Team Game. NOTE: SIngles & Doubles rounds are ALL Best of 1 (One Leg). The Team Game is best of 3 legs, by league vote.

Object Numbers: The object numbers are: (15 to 20, D, T, B, X) - 15 to 20, Doubles, Triples, Bulls and Beds must be closed. A bed’ which is annotated with an ‘X’ is when all three darts from a single turn land in the same number. Three ‘X’s must be closed as with all other object numbers.

Beds Explained more: First off, What is a BED? - A "bed" is short for "three in a bed", meaning all three darts in the same number. Often, when players throw at bulls, they ll miss with the first dart and then try to hit whatever number they slopped with the next two darts in order to get a bed. Likewise, if you re throwing at 20's and hit two fives, you can throw your third dart at the fives to get a bed.

Scoring on Beds
Beds can be used to point, just like anything else. Three fat 20's, assuming you ve closed beds and your opponent hasn t, would be worth 60 points. (Even if they ve got 20 s closed, because you re scoring on beds, not 20 s.) A triple-single-single (on 20 s) could score 100 on beds. . Three 7 s would score 21. Etc.

Commence Play: To start any match, each player or one player from each team throws one dart. This is known as the "diddle". The player whose dart lands closest to the center goes first. Generally, if both players’ darts are in the same section of the bull’s-eye or in the event of a tie, each player throws another dart until there is an obvious winner.

During Play: During a player's turn, the player throws three darts. After the last dart, the player's score is totaled. Any number that has not been scored three times is considered to be open.

Cumulative Scoring: D & T (doubles and triples) thrown into the object numbers (15 to 20) may count in that number for a needed single(s) or double or triple count OR the point value may be split.

Singles and Doubles: 3 x Singles, 3 x Doubles:  (Singles & Doubles rounds are ALL Best of 1 (One Leg). The Team Game is best of 3 legs, by league vote.) - Format is the same as LSDL(Tuesday Style) Mickey Mouse. The object of the game is to get three closes (15 to 20, D, T, B, X) and to have more points than the opposing team/player. All D & T (doubles and triples) on the board count towards the D & T count needing three each. A triple in any object number (15 - 20) may be counted as three singles as well a double for two singles. But three singles in an object number may not be counted as a triple nor two singles as a double. Red Bull or double bull may be counted as two bulls, a double or 50 points as applicable. NOTE: There is a 200 point lead cap on scoring. If at any time a team gets 200 Points in Front of their opponents the game is over and the team with the 200 point lead wins. the 200 point cap is optional. If both teams captains aggree to lift the 200 point cap they are free to do so.

The Team Game (Best of 3 Legs): Minimum 3 players but more may play. This does not mean that the team with more players shoots more. The game is still played in rotation - player on team A shoots followed by player on team B. For the team game, you can play any form of Mickeymouse you prefer, I have listed 2 alternative forms of mickey mouse below.

FORMAT 1 : Scram

Leg 1 – Team/Player 1 are the "Closers" and Team/Player 2 are the "Scorers." Leg 2 - Team/Player 2 are the "Closers" and Team/Player 1 are the "Scorers." Turns alternate between opposing players. The Closer throws first and attempts to close as many numbers as possible. The Scorer follows and attempts to score as many points as possible, on still open numbers, before the Closer can close all of the numbers. Once all the numbers have been closed, the leg ends, and the Scorer tallies their points. The Teams then switch roles and continue, with the new Closer throwing first.  The Team with the most points is the winner or if both teams have the same points total it’s a draw.

FORMAT 2 : Bowlers and Batters
Each team chooses one person to throw closest to the bullseye. Closest to the bullseye goes first and is the batting team. The object of the batting team is to score as many 'runs' as possible ie. your score on each turn is your runs; 3 throws being your 'bat'. The 'bowling' team has to hit doubles, trebles or bullseyes to score a wicket; a double being 1 wicket, a treble being 2 wickets and a bullseye being 3 wickets, 3 throws being your 'bowl'. When the bowling team reaches 10 wickets, as is with cricket, the sides change and the game continues. The winning team is the team who scores the most runs/points before having lost all 10 wickets.
